My Visit to the ER + Photo Roundup Five

First off, I hope that all of you had a wonderful Christmas Day and enjoyed time with your loved ones. Our Christmas was amazing and just as I expected it would be since it was our first Christmas in the new house. We decided earlier this year not to exchange gifts since we are getting married next year and purchased our first home this year. On Christmas Day, we went to see Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom. It was an awesome movie and I am happy that we got to see it on opening day. Babe & I are considering hosting Christmas at our house next year since we live far away from both of our families.

All of that brings me to why I had to go to the ER. We didn't decorate for Christmas this year because it snuck up on us and I had not had the chance to find an artificial tree tall enough that I loved. Since babe had to work on the day after Christmas, I decided I would go out to find an artificial tree for next year (preferably between 7.5 and 9 feet). On the way to Target, I was rear ended and that changed everything. The only accident I have ever been involved in was as a passenger when I was a kid when my mom sustained a whiplash. I remember how traumatic that experience was for me and I was hoping that I would pull through just fine. After the adrenaline subsided, I began to feel a sharp pain in my right trapezius muscle. After calling my insurance company, they advised me to go to the ER since I have Personal Injury Protection on my policy. They wanted to make sure I had on record how I was feeling in case it got worse. Rico came home from work immediately and we spent 6+ hours on the day after Christmas in the ER. My happiness quickly turned to pain and sadness because I was just shocked something like that would happen so unexpectedly. At this moment, I am writing this blog post and waiting for my muscle relaxer that was prescribed to me to start working. If it doesn't work after 45 minutes, I have some instructions for step therapy that are meant to make me more comfortable. I told babe I would like to not have to take Hydrocodon, as its a very serious narcotic that I do not want to have in my system.

Anyway, I am going to use today to hopefully get back to feeling normal so I can make the most of the last weekend in 2013. Tomorrow I go for my bridal makeup consultation and then I have to pick up some cupcakes for babe's birthday dinner tomorrow night.

It is so crazy how your life can change in an instance. While I had planned to return to work today to get some things done before NYE, I am at home in bed trying to recover from an accident. I had even planned to film videos yesterday after I got home from picking out a tree, but that didn't happen either.

Here are some photos from the past few days:

My Bestie's second Christmas gift is ready to be gifted! We will probably do lunch early next week to catch up, maybe even this weekend so that I can see my niece!

Christmas Eve (before I changed for the second time). My hair is really growing out nicely and I can't wait to see how my stylist will style it for the wedding!

Christmas Eve lunch at Whiskey Cake in Plano, Texas was quite the treat!

I have been thoroughly enjoying fixing my own oatmeal using almond milk! Its a lot healthier and allows me to control my sodium and sugar intake better.

Christmas Day before we headed to the movies to see Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom. I am completely bare faced because I have been trying to clear my skin of a breakout I have before my bridal consultation on Saturday!

Car Selfie while on the way to the movies.

I wore this beautiful necklace from Shop Lately on Christmas Day!

Since babe & I finally found my favorite red wine at Whole Foods, we shared the bottle over dinner on Christmas Day. Next time, we will get two.

This was our Christmas dinner for two. Kept it very simple since its only us!
4 oz. filet mignon with a side of grilled asparagus

The dress I decided to wear for babe's birthday dinner tomorrow instead of the lace black dress I originally picked out!

Before we headed out for Christmas Eve.

The day after Christmas before I headed out for morning errands.

I managed to pick up two cool white mini lights (the twinkling ones) at Target for 50% off! This happened during my morning run to Target, which was way before I was rear ended!

My run to Bath & Body Works (which was totally CRAY, lines out the door)!

Christmas Eve morning!

My Earrings from Bauble Bar that I wore on Christmas Eve.

Hope you enjoyed this post! Until next time...
