Monday & Tuesday Face of the Day (featuring Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk)

While I still am head over heels in love with the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick that I reviewed here, I decided to revisit my Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation the past few days because it has been a favorite foundation of mine for years. Also, since it has been so hot out...I wanted to opt for something a little lighter in consistency. Don't get me wrong, the BB Skin Foundation Stick is light as well..but the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation is even lighter. I think I am going to pick up the Estée Lauder ‘Double Wear All Day Glow’ BB Moisture Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 30 from Nordstrom as a foundation alternative for the summer. I also am looking for something with SPF that I can bring on our honeymoon for the days I want more even coverage on my skin.

For Monday, I wanted to provide a before and after photo so that you can see exactly what the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation does for my skin. The before photo is without any moisturizer, primer or makeup. I literally washed my face, pat dry with a hand towel and then snapped the photo. The after photo was when my makeup was fully completed and I was headed out for the day. My lip color for Monday was the MAC Lip Pencil in Magenta, topped off with the NYX Butter Gloss in Strawberry parfait. I hauled both of those items in a blog post here.

For Tuesday, I opted to add dark brown liner on my upper lash line, a different blush and another bright lip color. The top photo was taken with flash and the bottom photo was taken without flash. As you can see, the foundation photographs beautifully. I did not use a setting powder with this look because I prime my face with the Banana Powder. A few people have asked how that works. I first take care of my pores on the sides of my nose with the Benefit Porefessional. After that is applied, I then apply banana powder to my T-zone and over top of the Benefit Porefessional with a small brush, much like the MAC 109 Small Contour Brush. Use brushes for what you want to use them for. You don't have to contour with it just because its called a contour brush. After that, I proceed to applying my foundation and the rest of my makeup! For lip color, I am wearing MAC lipstick in Spitfire (Limited Edition). My necklace is by House of Harlow and its no longer available in this color (similar here).
