A Relaxing Weekend

Hey there beautiful girls! It was a very relaxing weekend for my husband & I as I was very exhausted from the last minute work travel to Chicago. We also will be traveling for the Labor Day weekend so we just wanted to relax and recover. I do not know if I have mentioned it yet but hubby & I have been working out 6 days per week doing P90X again. We did it back in college when Hubby first lost a lot of weight but had not really used it since. However, I told him I would like to lose weight before we start trying for kids in 2 years...not because I am not happy with where I am because I love my weight but I need to give myself a cushion and focus on building muscle and lowering body fat before that time comes. Also, babe has a goal he wants to achieve before year end and its always easier when you feel like you are both in it together.
We didn't do much this weekend, but we did have a day date on Saturday to Velvet Taco. I absolutely LOVE this taco place and it had been a while since we visited. If you live in the DFW area, you should definitely consider visiting Velvet.
As I may have mentioned before, I lost my business credit card while I was in Chicago for work travel. As a result, Rico insisted I get a case that could carry my phone, ID and credit cards. I ordered this case from Amazon and I plan to use it every single day to avoid that mistake happening again. It will be particularly useful when I travel to Arizona and Utah next month for work.
A self-portrait I took on Saturday before we headed out for our lunch date. Necklace is from Zara...I just love their accessories.
While I am not perfect, I always strive to be a Proverbs 31 woman. Proverbs 31 has been very influential to me as I grow in my faith and in my marriage. If you are looking to live with a purpose, you can most certainly find some direction here.

And I leave you with the awesome roses that hubby brought home for me on Friday before date night. He always lets me know how much he appreciates me with his random acts of kindness. I think the fact that we both strive to show one another how much we are appreciated has definitely helped our marriage to remain strong. I am so thankful that God sent me my life partner and INCREDIBLY grateful that nothing or no one before him ever worked out.

Chicago, Chicago + What Else is New

Hey there beautiful girls! Long time, no talk but I promise there is always a reason. My career is keeping me busier than ever. I definitely feel like although grad school is commitment to my career has taken its place. I wake up each day extremely grateful to God for all the doors that have opened and continue to be opened for me. My marriage is career is all I could ask for right friendships are solid...I just feel like I have a really good balance right now. Having a Type A personality has led me to always have great organization and time management skills. Lately, I have had to really prioritize what's important...especially now that I have a mid-senior level role that requires quite a bit of travel. Mom came in town to visit last week because she had some assets to see in Houston & Dallas. It was great having her and she will be back in October to celebrate my 28th Birthday!
I could talk to you all forever but I wanted to share photo highlights from the past few weeks along with photos from my quick work trip to Chicago. I literally just returned from Chicago at 6 pm CST yesterday.
Until next time, stay beautiful. Love yourself. Live your life. And own your destiny.
Enjoy all of my snapshots!

Honeymoon in St. Lucia - Part III

Upon the realization that we have over 700 photos from at least four sources (GoPro, iPhone, Samsung Galaxy S4 and my DSLR), I just decided I would share as many photos as I can that I find interesting from our honeymoon to St. Lucia. The pictures may or may not have been taken on the same day. Today there are photos from our day in the rainforest zip-lining, the golf day we had at Sandals La Toc and much more. You will also get to experience through photos the amazing view of the Atlantic Ocean from the fire station in Dennery. Two of our favorite restaurants at the Sandals Grande St. Lucia were Barefoot by the Sea (dinner) and The Mariner (lunch). I first tasted the Julie mango on a bus ride back from zip-lining, along with a shot of spiced rum in an old Bounty Rum bottle. Our tour guide on the zip-lining tour told us a shot of spiced rum a day keeps the doctor away. I haven't been able to verify that so proceed at your own risk.

On a final note (for this post), I highly recommend the concierge level rooms at Sandals resorts. The service we received was absolutely unmatched! Club Sandals ROCKS!

Don't be surprised if photos from our zip-lining tour or golf day make an appearance in another post! There are so many that I may end up finding others that I want to share! :)

Honeymoon in St. Lucia - Part II

Hey there beautiful girls! Although I haven't had anytime to sort through the photos from our honeymoon, I didn't want you to have to wait any longer for the second blog post since a lot of you seemed to enjoy the highlights from our honeymoon. Today I am sharing photos from our first couple days in St. Lucia. My luggage was caught in Miami on the way to St. Lucia so I had to make due with what I had to go horseback riding until my luggage arrived the next day around 7 pm EST. Luckily babe had a few items I could use, such as a swimsuit and water shoes. Some of the photos with a wide-angle were taken on my GoPro Hero3+ Silver Edition.
