Do It for the 'Gram, I Woke Up Like This & Ballerina Bun Life

Hey there beautiful girls! I am back with this week's blog post! Thank you to all of you who have been interacting with me on Instagram and also to those of you that read my last blog post on my Makeup Essentials. I enjoyed sharing my current makeup essentials with you! I am a creature of habit when it comes to my makeup routine! And for the last 3-4 months, I have been using pretty much all of the same products. I recently picked up the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette and cannot wait to put it to use! Maybe it will become a makeup essential for me as I want to get into wearing eyeshadow more! Although, knowing me...I know it is not likely that I will use eyeshadow everyday!

I began my week watching the Cowboys face the Packers in the NFL playoffs! Yes, we lost the game but I am still a Cowboys fan for life. I am not even going to begin to discuss what should have been called or would've been called because that would take away from the fact that the Packers won the game and they advanced! :)

I also straightened by hair this weekend for the first time since December 18th (which was the day I had my hair professionally colored and straightened). I used the tension method while blow drying my hair and managed to snap a pic when I was in the process of blowing out my hair. You even get to see my natural curls in a twist! I know...that is a big deal! My favorite edge control product right now is the Curls Blueberry Bliss Curl Control Paste

Today I decided that I would put my hair up in a ballerina bun because its been a few months since I've done it! I always use my 'styling donut' from H&M and it works perfectly. Although my hair has grown quite a bit, I think I will always use the 'styling donut' because I love how full it makes my ballerina bun. Such a great protective style so that my ends are protected from rubbing against my blouses, sweaters and scarves. I will likely be wearing this bun until wash day!

I am back healthy and just in time to book my next work trip to Portland, Oregon next month! I hope you enjoy this blog post and if you want to keep up with me during the week...check me out on Instagram (@itserikawyatt).

Also, I included a rare photo today of my two childhood scars (one on my chin and the other under my bottom lip)! Sometimes I wish they were more visible because they are both so much a part of who I am...but on the rare occasion that I take a photo that includes both scars...it makes me appreciate my childhood that much more! I was such a tomboy and clumsy! I have the scars to prove it! Polar opposite to how I am now...although, I do still tend to be clumsy every once in a while.

It is worth mentioning [so that I am not misunderstood] that returning to Instagram in no way guarantees my return to YouTube. YouTube isn't currently a space that I see myself in. Maybe that will change in 2016 or a few years. Trust me...I have considered it after having brands reach out to me that want to work with me on YouTube. But, my heart wouldn't be in it. And I refuse to sell my soul for a few pennies! Never have, never will. I have worked too hard at establishing myself in my "real life" career to go back to YouTube just for what I can make from it. As I posted about many times before...Do it with passion or don't do it at all. And YouTube is not something I am passionate about at this moment! I know that my loyal supporters do not care one way or the other but I wanted to be transparent about that!
