Joie de Vivre Means Joy of Living

About a year ago, Hubby & I planned to take a trip to New Orleans again and take a day trip to Baton Rouge to attend a game in Tiger Stadium for the first time as alumni. Although we didn't realize it at the time, we planned the trip for the perfect time. While babe is focusing on finishing up his last few classes of graduate school and us both being busy with work, we deserve some time to relax and release. We were able to do exactly that! There is just something about New Orleans that makes you let your hair down and really enjoy yourself! I remember moving to New Orleans in August 2004 and I fell in love with the city right away.

We once again stayed at the Royal Sonesta New Orleans because its probably our favorite hotel in the city! While it is located on Bourbon Street in the heart of the French Quarter, the hotel is still set up in such a way that allows you to escape what is going on just outside of its doors. We always request a room on a higher floor, courtyard facing - as it creates a barrier for the noise! I honestly had the best sleep I've had in about a month during our trip! No one can complain when they get some great sleep while on vacation. Not to mention, the hotel has a bar, two restaurants, a jazz club, heated pool and coffee shop all on the grounds!

Overall, it was an awesome trip - besides the loss to Arkansas! I wouldn't even know where to begin if I speak any further on the game...so I will move forward. We spent a day tailgating at LSU and attending the game.

The other days were spent enjoying the city, which mainly revolved around enjoying great music and incredible eats! We fell in love with District Donuts! Have you ever had a Monte Cristo sandwich on a donut? Yeah, me either until this trip! Ended up going there a total of three times during the 4 days that we were there.
